We have kicked off our journey with the Total WSH Programme aimed at improving employee health and well-being in a holistic manner. As of May, a total of 267 workers did the health screening, taking proactive steps towards improving their health. All participants will be enrolled in our Health Coaching Programme, designed to help them develop better wellness habits. Through this programme, participants will receive guidance on key wellness areas such as balanced nutrition, regular physical activity, and sustainable lifestyle changes. We recognize that prioritizing health plays a critical role in ensuring safety at work. Healthy employees are more alert, have higher energy levels, and are less prone to injuries and illnesses, which directly contributes to a safer, more productive working environment for everyone.
To mark the end of the first quarter of the year, HSB held our Annual Appreciation Dinner for our workers on 22 March 2025, celebrating the hard work of our workers. The event began with a warm welcome speech by our Managing Director, Mr. Thomas Ng, who extended his heartfelt appreciation to the workers for their unwavering support and contribution to the success of the company, and reminding them to take care of one another. His message reinforced the company’s culture of teamwork, respect, mutual support, and always remembering to put safety first. Long service awards were presented to 11 workers who reached the milestones of 10th, 15th, and 20th years of service in the company. The flavorful event featured buffets with a wide variety of dishes, including live food stations that added excitement to the dining experience.
During the fun-filled night, workers get to dance to their favourite tunes and win prizes through the stage games and lucky draws. The appreciation dinner was not only a gesture of thanks, but also an event to boost morale, and strengthen bond within the HSB family.
HSB recently held its Annual hand Safety Campaign, an initiative designed to raise awareness about the importance of hand safety in our daily work routines. The campaign served as a timely reminder that our hands are essential tools in everything we do, and protecting them is vital to ensuring both safety and productivity in the workplace. The event began with an inspiring opening speech, emphasizing the critical role of hand protection and how simple safety practices can prevent serious injuries. One of the key highlights of the campaign was a creative skit, thoughtfully performed to illustrate real-life scenarios and the importance of being mindful at work. To recognize the efforts of those who played a key role in promoting the campaign, tokens of appreciation were awarded to individuals and project team who have demonstrated good EHS performance, whose contributions made a significant impact.
Following the campaign, HSB hosted a cheerful break fast gathering, bringing together both Muslim and non-Muslim colleagues in a warm, inclusive celebration. At HSB, we believe that small actions lead to big outcomes, and that protecting our hands is part of protecting our future. Let’s continue to work hand in hand to create a safer, more mindful workplace for everyone.
HSB reaffirmed our commitment to building a more inclusive and sustainable community through meaningful corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives this year through our Clothes Recycling Program and Donation Drive. As part of our commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and environmental sustainability, HSB rolled out our annual clothes recycling programme before the Lunar New Year, encouraging staff to donate their pre-loved clothing in good condition, which are then collected and delivered to the Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS). This initiative helps reduce textile waste but also supports the integration and well-being of persons with intellectual disabilities in Singapore. The donated clothes contributes meaningfully to MINDS’ day to day operations, supporting both their programmes and the individuals that they serve. A significant portion of the donated clothes are sold at MINDS shops, and the proceeds support programmes that empower persons with intellectual disabilities.
On the 26th March 2025, HSB successfully held a Hari Raya Charity Drive, and it was a heartwarming success! Essential items including beverages, food, and toiletries, were donated to various organisations in need. Together, we brought festive cheer and smiles to the following organisations – Darul Ihsan Orphanage, Muhammadiyah Welfare Home, Casa Raudha, and Masjid Al-Istighfar – Mahammadiyah. We believe in fostering positive change and making a meaningful impact on the lives of those around us, especially during special times like Hari Raya. HSB remains committed to driving impactful corporate social responsibility efforts that support both the environment and community.
