Corporate Social Responsibility
CSR at Hwa Seng Builder
At HSB, we take pride in operating our business responsibly by adopting sustainable practices that reduce waste, minimise pollution, and improve efficiency across our projects and operations.
We take care of the welfare and well-being of our staff and workers. From organising health talks to promoting safety awareness, initiatives, interventions, and training, we ensure best practices are upheld across the organisation.
Beyond our worksites, we actively contribute back to the community by participating in various CSR initiatives. This includes collaborations with government agencies, supporting environmental campaigns, providing financial assistance, engaging in philanthropic efforts, and volunteering with charities and community organisations.

Our CSR Commitment in Action

Prioritizing Employee Health and Well-Being
At HSB, we believe health and safety go hand in hand. We encourage both our staff and workers to maintain a balanced lifestyle by staying active, eating well, and managing stress effectively.
To support this, we offer engaging on-site programs such as Zumba sessions, health talks, and health coaching that motivate employees to take charge of their health.
By empowering workers to understand and manage their health conditions, and by encouraging open communication where workers can feel safe to voice their concerns, we continue to prioritize both well-being and safety as the foundation of our work.
Recycling Campaign
Sustainability begins with everyday choices. At HSB, we run company-wide recycling drives and awareness programmes to encourage employees and partners to reduce waste and adopt responsible consumption habits.
Our initiatives focus on clothes recycling, giving pre-loved garments a second life, and e-waste recycling, ensuring electronic waste is disposed of safely and sustainably. Through these efforts, we aim to reduce our environmental footprint while fostering a culture of sustainability across the organisation.

World Water Day
Water is one of our planet’s most precious resources. Each year, we participate in World Water Day activities to raise awareness of water conservation and support Singapore’s efforts in sustainable water management.
As part of our commitment, we collect rainwater in unused containers and reuse it to reduce overall water consumption. The collected rainwater is stored, transported by truck, and used for dust control on-site and other construction activities, helping us minimise water wastage while promoting sustainable practices across our projects.

Kayak 'N' Klean Event
HSB commemorated Singapore’s World Water Day by taking action to protect our waterways. Through engaging, hands-on cleanup activities, participants witnessed firsthand the effects of pollution on our lakes.
By collecting plastic bottles, cans, wrappers, and other debris, our team not only contributed to cleaner waterways but also helped preserve healthier ecosystems for the community. These help deepen their understanding of environmental responsibility and the importance of waterway preservation.
